Privacy Policy

This policy explains what personal data fiveelements.ai collects when you generate a Five Elements personality blueprint, why we use it, and the rights you have under the UK GDPR and EU GDPR (Regulation (EU) 2016/679).

1. Who we are (Data Controller)

The data controller is fiveelements.ai. For any privacy request, contact us at privacy@fiveelements.ai. (Contact address to be confirmed at launch.)

2. What we collect

• Birth data — date, time, and sex/gender you provide, used to calculate your Five Elements chart.
• Email address — only if you subscribe to Daily Insight or create an account; not required to view a free report.
• Payment data — processed by our payment providers (Stripe or PayPal). We never store your card or bank details.
• Usage data — anonymous analytics (page views, device type) collected only after you consent via the cookie banner.

3. Why we use it and our legal basis

• To generate your report — performance of a contract / legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(b)–(f)).
• To send Daily Insight or marketing — your consent (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.
• To measure and improve the service — consent for non-essential analytics cookies (Art. 6(1)(a)).

4. Profiling

We create a personality profile from your birth chart (day master, elements, trigram). This is derived from a traditional philosophical framework and is offered for entertainment and reflection. It is not a scientific, clinical, or diagnostic assessment, and should not be used to make medical, financial, or life decisions.

5. AI processing and international transfers

Report text is generated by an AI model. Depending on the provider in use, this may involve sending your birth data to a model operated outside the UK/EEA (for example, DeepSeek, based in China). Where data leaves the UK/EEA we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or standard contractual clauses. The model is instructed to use your data only to generate the report and not to retain it for training.

6. Data retention

• Birth data is used to generate your report and is deleted after generation, or earlier on your request.
• Account email is kept for the life of your subscription and removed on cancellation or request.
• Analytics logs are retained for no more than 30 days.

7. Your rights

Under UK/EU GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, and port your data, and to object to processing. To exercise any right, email privacy@fiveelements.ai. We respond within one month.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority — in the UK, the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO); in the EU, your local Data Protection Authority.

8. Cookies

We use strictly necessary cookies to keep the service working, and optional analytics cookies to understand usage. Non-essential cookies are set only after you click Accept on the consent banner. You can withdraw or change your choice any time via Cookie Settings in the report footer.

9. Children

This service is for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18, and the entry gate requires an 18+ confirmation.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be reflected by a new "Last updated" date above.
